Color-Coded Organization
New hires are bombarded with printed training material during their 10-week onboarding. Printed material covers their job as well as information concerning all agency departments. Job-specific handouts and job aids are getting lost/mixed in with less essential information. Once these large binders of information are stored away in a cabinet or desk drawer, the information is not quickly accessible and overwhelming to revisit.

Insights
Sariah needs to reference job aids and handouts but this information is documented on paper and she is overwhelmed by the amount of physical paper she has.
Sariah needs to access information from anywhere and at any time but the information she has is accessible only in her office.
Sariah needs to be able to quickly find specific information but the information she has is unorganized and mixed in with other irrelevant information.
Sariah needs to see a process/procedure from start to finish to get a sense of her place in the process and what comes next but right now there are no visual overviews of work tasks/processes/procedures.
Sariah needs to feel a sense of achievement and accomplishment but social work is a field with high workload volume; recognition and a sense of accomplishment are rare.

“How Might We” Questions
How might we reduce the amount of paper new hires are given?
How might we present/organize information for Sariah so that information is quickly and easily accessible to her from anywhere at the time of need?
How might we highlight critical information?
How might we prevent critical information from getting lost/mixed in with less useful information?
How might we organize Sariah's information so it can be sorted, filtered and prioritized/favorited?
How might we help Sariah stay on task and anticipate what comes next so that she will feel confident about her work?
How might we give Sariah a sense of accomplishment and achievement in her work?
How might we give Sariah quick access to information she may not use regularly?
